Gospel

Back in the day the Gospel wasn't a religion, it was a life style it wasn't something that could be carried by hand like we can today. It was something etched in your being. Something that when it was heard you soaked it in and lived and breathed on every word that was spoken or read, because. You spoke it in the way you walked, the way you talked, the way you worked. It was something you lived on a daily basis. It was seen in the way they went out of the way for the poor, broken an the widowed.
But today, today it seems a little tainted or toned down if you may. We went from being the gospel to carrying it in our pocket and pulling it out when the right time came along. We actually have the chance to go to a building we label church, without persecution an hear the gospel preached every Sunday. But we take it in an let it tickle our ear for a day or two an then shake it out.
In the words of DC Talk "what have we become". We have let the Gospel go from us all the time to us when i feel like it. I can't wait for the day when we can let go of who we are an let Christ fully encompass our lives and let the Gospel take over. That day will be a glorious day.
